Just created one more poster.
One of the persons should be Director USCIS.
One letter/poster to each service center.
One I think should be President of US.
Another place could be CNN, FOX news etc.
Another one could be Congressmen
If we have our blogs , we can post them there also.
Do we email or snail mail these letters/posters?

1) Was there an LUD update on ur I-140 (Last Update Date on the USCIS.gov website)
2) What Service center did you guys file in?
3) Do your recept numbers start from LIN or SRC?
1) The LUD updated from 6/16/2007 to 8/12/2007
2) I-140 was sent to Texas, approved on 6/15/2007;
on the I-485 USPS receipt I see that it was received on July 2, 2007 11:34am by B.Gerkensmeyer in Lincoln, NE
3) I-140 receipt starts with SRC.
No checks chashed, no word from lawyer.

1.4.6 A pregnant inmate shall not be restrained while in labor, while giving birth, or during the post-partum recovery period, unless requested by attending medical staff or as specifically directed by the Warden. If restraints are necessary in any manner under such conditions, they should be the least restrictive type possible to remain consistent with sound security practices.
So the warden can still order restraints.

Our problem is that we do not want to accept this news. Unless we receive some confirmed news to contrary we should not blame someone who might have shared this news with us in good faith. Let's try to find out the truth first.
It may be right. One of my congresswomen assistants called up USCIS and they were told that due to many apps, there is lot of confusion and they will get back to her in week's time. Not sure but looks like USCIS/DOS has boned this up again :-)

Pls use this site for any issues and their resolution, Not to create despair and panic with your posts..Eb2 or Eb3 are mostly employer's choice rather than your skills in most of the cases if you work for a desi company. Doesn't mean that Eb2 is not higher than Eb3.

All those who are suffering like this please consider contributing to IV and we request members to join in doing action alerts, Letters to Editors and participate in forums
Here it goes
I have about 7 years of experience as a project manager in Environmental Engg and a BS from a very reputed school but my visa status doesnt permit me to work. Recently, I had to let go of a wonderful job offer because I didnt have EAD and was not even eligible to apply for H1 work permit, having used up 6 years of H status (the employer was ready to sponsor). That leaves me no option but wait for backlog to be cleared or Plan B- move back home. With retrogression, it would take atleast two more years to get my EAD. That would take away 8 years of my productive time in life. All these 6 years, I have volunteered in different non-profit organisations by developing and maintaining their websites. I am also volunteering in my son's school. We have been paying our taxes, donating to Firemen, Policemen etc. It is frustrating that we are giving to the community and not getting basic work permit in return.
How US will benefit if you remain here (competitiveness angle) -
I have a subtantial work experience and energy which I can put to use if I get to work and contribute to the US economy. Currently all my skills are wasted while the job position I could not fill due to immigration issues remains open for last 5 months.

If you have time for you visa application then get a new passort with name correction, or you can say them to put a observation on second page of the passport which can be done 1-2 days.

Guys please share your experience. I have applied the same way and I am wondering what my case result would be. I took a letter of completion from the school as I completed my degree requirements early and applied.

I think it all boils down to this scenerio
you have a seriously injured uninvited person in your front lawn about to die. what are you gonna do ?
Some people would want that 'problem' to go away and some would want to help the person. Our actions make what we are ..
BTW if anyone is interested, child birth generates 9 dols (measure of pain) of pain and at 10 dols a person dies. 9 dols is maximum pain a human being can suffer.
Take your pick.
I will call the Emergency services, to take the person off of my property...that is what I will do....
And you know what..they probably gave this woman epidural too....

No the core group doesn't oppose or endorse the idea. If you like the idea then go for it.
As for the media coverage, I was talking to a reporter last night and he agreed that this was a very good way to get media attention - so if people can increase the numbers, it would really help.
Additionally, here are my 2 cents on how the media coverage works. You think up of something unique and then create a buzz around it by talking about it in various forums, blog sites etc. So here's what I've done
1. Wrote about it on Desicritics: http://desicritics.org/2007/07/06/004733.php
2. Posted this message to South Asian Journalists Association mailing list (www.saja.org)
3. Talking to various reporters to cover this
You cannot get everyone excited about all the action items, correct? So if people are excited about this, why grumble about some of them not supporting other action items? I for one have actively taken part in all of them and I like this one as well.

Child beaters need to be taught a good lesson. Because of obvious reasons, you cannot go to the police or immigration.
I am assuming she doesn't know that you can't go to the authorities. So..(this might sound stupid) you can threaten her that you will report her unless she refunds all the money you paid her. This is the best possible punishment I can think of.
