Sorry that I had to wait this long to contribute. Been tight with my debt and payments and also secretly monitoring this board and praying for your success. My first contribution of $20 was sent via paypal.
I personally feel that not a lot of people out there know about paypal or are just too scared to transact online.
It would be awesome if a portion of the money could be used to start a mailing campaign via snail mail by including a contribution plea letter along with a form that can be filled and mailed with a cheque to IV. Just like those credit card offers. Obviously to all the registered members.
Also, psychologically, when you navigate to the contribution page, the list of contribution amount options starts with $100. And then all the way to the right is the "other" option. It takes time for the eye to get to the "other" amount option as a result of which an anonymous/interested user navigating to the page sees contribution amounts in multiples of $100 thereby creating doubt/hesitation without realizing that you can choose the "other" option to contribute in smaller numbers. It would be great if you could put in a blank text field first and then the other options with multiples of $100.
Just my 0.02 cents.
Keep pushing and for all you guys watching in the sidelines watch "Gandhi" - the movie, for inspiration. Seriously!
Even if you don't contribute, walk up to Blockbuster or go online on Netflix and rent the movie out.
IV is doing a tremoundus job. I have been watching and waiting silently until I saw the movie "Gandhi".
I know many of you single non-immigrants living alone don't have to shop around for Christmas. I know I don't because my family doesn't live here. So maybe you can gift IV with a small contribution.
Maybe you can skip a carwash this month (for all those living in the south, i.e.) and do it yourself and send in the money to IV. Small drops of water make an ocean. So don't think your contribution, however small it may be, is not going to help.
If you really don't have the money to contribute, atleast buy a $1 greeting card and a $0.39 stamp and send it to IV thanking them for fighting on your behalf. Its that simple.

I guess My interview didn't go as expected.
20) I told security that, we had finished our interview and officer forgot to return our I-94..they insisted that we shud take infopass and they wont allow anyone to go back..I had to really argue with them (I decided I have nothing to loose..anyway 485 is screwed and so stood there asking them to let me in)
21) After consistent nagging, the security guy took our passports, interview response letter(After interview if your app doesn't get appproved they willgive a kind of reciept saying u attended the interview..blahblah) and went in

This idea will just put another layer on the GC process. If you are going to make a rule/law to allow this 5 year EAD and new status, why not instead change the LAW to allow higher numbers of yearly GC cards or remove the country based limits.

All I want is for you to recognize, that what your argument may lead to, is that the F1 may be altered to be dual-intent, rather than invalidating the F1 to GC path. It is just a matter of perspective. You must be able to see the matter from other points of view

This might be an error but is causing problems and Inconvenience and injustice to some innocent people. You can call it as jealousy. That is alright but they have an issue which they need to fight. I know you guys have been doing a great job. I joined around july last year and have been a regular visitor to your site. Actually, I was just active on the thread that GCStatus has started. I dont think he ever used derogatory statements against any of the admin. Infact, he has posted for a help from admin on more than 4 occassions with out any proper response. Actually, If you look at this thread, it was some one else who had commented admins are on vacation and will not be back until july 2009. It was not GCStatus who said that. He just replied to that . He had no clue about what you guys are up to. So let us stop this leadership fight. Now that, you have clearly told you cannot hardwire that thread on the front page. Well, we cant do much about it now, since we are at your help here. If you think, GCStatus has said any thing bad about you, please can you post it, because i did not find any comments about admin.

We can not practically respond to most of the posts, even if we want. But as I mentioned earlier, not responding to a post doesn't give you license to be rude and then later call it a joke. Its not funny because we take this effort very seriously. Our information is in public domain and we are very much reachable. Whereas you have put in bogus information in your profile and we think that using anonymous handle, you are attacking this effort. With this effort we have developed think skin because we have heard a lot of times from naysayers. But sometimes, like today, we do feel the need to respond to needless attacks/nagging/poking.
